Prison Island Tour
Escape to Changuu Island “Prison Island” on this 5-hour excursion and behold the beauty of this charming tropical island and come face-to-face with fascinating Aldabra giant tortoises.
Embark on a 30-minute boat ride from Zanzibar, and get ready for an experience unlike no other. Upon arrival to the former slave island, you will be greeted by glistening turquoise waters and white sands. Immerse yourself in history as you stroll through the prison complex which was built in 1893 initially to be used as a prison, but due to the yellow fever epidemic, it was converted into a quarantine island.
Make friends with giant tortoises as you visit Turtle Sanctuary, an experience you will unlikely forget. You will learn about these loveable reptiles as well as have the opportunity to feed them their favourite snack!
Don’t forget your swimsuit! Located in the Indian Ocean, Changuu Island boasts pristine waters teeming with colourful marine life. Grab your snorkel and explore the magical underwater world. If you prefer, you can catch the rays and listen as the waves lap the sandy shore as you top up on tan on the beach.
Mnemba Tour
Discover the colourful coral reefs, schools of tropical fish, and marine life of the Mnemba Island marine reserve on this half-day tour. Set sail from Nungwi Beach, look out for wild dolphins as you cruise along the coast, then dive in to swim and snorkel along the Mnemba Island reef. Look out for trumpetfish, manta rays, and Staghorn Coral during your snorkelling tour, then stop by a sandbank to spot starfish on the way back (depending on the tide).
