The Itinerary
Day 1 - Welcome to Kochi
Welcome to Kochi, aka Cochin—the vibrant, eclectic city that’s been stealing hearts for over 600 years! Nestled on Kerala’s stunning southwest coast, Kochi is a melting pot of cultures, history, and colorful architecture. From its centuries-old religious monuments and fascinating museums to quirky galleries, bustling cafes, and charming antique shops, this port city has something for everyone.
As soon as you land at Kochi International Airport, you’ll be picked off and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Get comfy, because your overnight stay in Kochi is just the start of a fantastic adventure in this magical city!

Day 2 - Kochi
After breakfast, it’s time to dive headfirst into the captivating charm of Cochin. Your first stop is the iconic Fort Kochi, where a stroll along the coastline will take you past the mesmerizing Chinese Fishing Nets (or Cheenavala as they’re called locally). These massive, cantilevered nets have been a fixture here for centuries, and watching the fishermen at work or snapping a photo with the picturesque backdrop is a must!
Next, we head to the Dutch Palace, a stunning piece of history built by the Portuguese but gifted to the King of Cochin. Inside, you’ll discover an array of royal artifacts, intricate murals, and fascinating tales from Cochin’s rich past. History buffs are in for a treat as you wander through its corridors.
From there, you’ll make your way to the Jewish Synagogue, one of the oldest active synagogues in the Commonwealth, adorned with beautiful chandeliers, hand-painted tiles, and ancient scrolls. It’s a peaceful place steeped in history, though it’s closed on Friday afternoons and Saturdays, so plan accordingly!

Day 3 - Munnar
Nestled at the confluence of three mountain streams, Munnar is a picturesque hill station in Kerala’s Western Ghats, offering a tranquil escape into nature. Surrounded by rolling green hills and misty tea plantations, this idyllic spot is a must-visit. The highlight of the area is the incredible Eravikulam National Park, home to a diverse range of wildlife, including the endangered Nilgiri Tahr (a rare mountain goat). The park also features stunning hiking trails, the beautiful Lakkam Waterfalls, and Kerala’s highest point—Anamudi Peak, standing tall at 2,695 meters.
After breakfast, you’ll check out and begin your scenic drive to Munnar, passing through breathtaking landscapes along the way. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and take a moment to soak in the fresh mountain air. In the afternoon, venture into the heart of Eravikulam National Park, where you can explore its rich biodiversity and maybe even spot the Nilgiri Tahr roaming the hills.
Once you’ve had your fill of the stunning scenery, return to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure, unwinding amidst the beauty of Munnar. Overnight stay in Munnar, surrounded by the tranquility of the Western Ghats.

Day 4 - Munnar
Start your day with a delicious breakfast before heading out to explore Munnar’s lush tea plantations, where endless green hills stretch as far as the eye can see. With more than 50 tea estates in the area, Munnar is one of the largest tea trade hubs in India, and you’ll get to wander through the vibrant tea gardens, learning about the local tea-growing process.
Next, it’s off to the Tata Tea Museum, where you’ll dive into the rich history of tea production. You’ll witness the journey of tea from leaf to cup and get a behind-the-scenes look at how this popular brew is crafted. Cap off the experience with a tea-tasting session, sampling some of the most exotic varieties of tea in the world.
Afterward, drive back to your hotel, where you can relax and reminisce about your aromatic adventure through Munnar’s tea country!

Day 5 - Alappuzha
After breakfast, set off for Alappuzha, also known as Alleppey, often called the Venice of the East for its enchanting network of canals. This bustling city along the coast of the Laccadive Sea is famed for its tranquil houseboat cruises through Kerala’s serene backwaters.
Upon arrival, you’ll check into a luxurious houseboat, a traditional slow-moving barge that offers a truly unique experience. As you cruise through the calm canals, you’ll witness picturesque villages, swaying palms, and the lush greenery that lines the waterways. Enjoy a delicious lunch on board as the houseboat meanders through this peaceful paradise.
As the sun begins to set, the houseboat will anchor, giving you time to soak in the golden hues of the evening sky. A romantic candlelight dinner follows, surrounded by the soothing sounds of the water. Relax and unwind with an overnight stay on the houseboat, where you can drift off to sleep under the stars, fully immersed in the magic of the backwaters.

Day 6 - Mararikulam
After a relaxing breakfast on your houseboat, it’s time to check out and head to the serene coastal village of Mararikulam. Just a short drive away, Mararikulam is a hidden gem known for its tranquil beaches and laid-back vibe.
Once you arrive, check into your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Whether you decide to unwind on the sandy shores, take a dip in the warm waters, or explore the local area, it’s all about relaxation here.

Day 7 - Mararikulam (Free Day!)
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, then the day is yours to indulge in some of Mararikulam’s best offerings! You can relax with a rejuvenating Ayurvedic treatment, hit the beach for some sun-soaked fun, or explore the vibrant local bazaar.
For something different, opt for a visit to Kumbalanghi Village, where you can try your hand at crab catching, witness coconut processing, and tour the local farms for a glimpse of authentic village life (optional tour).
