The 3-day course is divided into 3 parts:
- Dive theory completed online prior to arrival; OR, in our air-conditioned classroom at location
- Shallow water training and practicing at the beach
- 4 Open Water Course dives, during the 2 half-day dive trips in the Phi Phi National Park
Required skills to complete the course:
- Swim 200 meters
- Snorkel 300 meters
- Float for 10 minutes

Additional Information
Half-Day Dive Trips Include
- We run 2 half-day dive trips to the Phi Phi National Park every day departing at 7:30am, returning at 12pm, and an afternoon trip departing at 1:30pm, returning at 6pm.
- Most of our many dive site options are about a 20- 30-minute ride cruising on our comfortable purpose-built dive boat.
- The Open Water Course dive trips are like site seeing trips around the scenic limestone islands of the National Park.
- Please note: There is a R300 National Park Entrance Fee applicable on entry.
Safety
Guest safety is a big priority. A medical questionnaire is answered pre-dive to ensure all safety requirements are met. There is also a doctor on the island for check-ups. Please also note: after doing 2 scuba dives, you must wait 18 to 24 hours before you can fly (more on this in the course).Theory
With all the Online Theory complete at home, the course is still usually done in 2.5 days. But on the 1st day, you would not need to spend all morning in the classroom. Some guests arrive to Phi Phi in the morning and are in the shallow water training area that afternoon.- You can choose to do all your theory online before arrival and save on the course cost.
