Welcome to Egypt! Your adventure begins the moment you touch down in Cairo. As you disembark, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Get settled in, relax, and get excited for the days to come.
Cairo is a whirlwind of excitement. Picture yourself wandering around vibrant markets, where the smell of spices fills the air, or sailing along the Nile with the city’s lights as your backdrop. You’ll get up close and personal with the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, iconic landmarks that have been fascinating visitors for centuries. So kick back, relax, and get ready—Cairo’s mix of ancient marvels and lively streets is about to make your trip unforgettable!
The Pyramids & Selfies with the Sphinx
After breakfast, you’ll head out to explore the famous Pyramids of Giza, starting with the Great Pyramid of Cheops, which has stood tall for over 4,500 years. As you take in the size and wonder of these ancient structures, your guide will share the incredible stories behind their construction and history.
You’ll also see the Pyramids of Chephren and Mycerinus, along with the iconic Sphinx, guarding the pyramids with its lion’s body and human face. Next, you’ll visit the Egyptian Museum, where you’ll get up close with some of Egypt’s most treasured artifacts, including the famous golden mask of King Tutankhamun.
Fly to Aswan & Start your Nile Cruise
After breakfast, you’ll check out of your hotel and head to Cairo Airport for a quick flight to Aswan, where your Nile adventure begins.
Upon arrival, your guide will meet you and take you to the stunning Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis. Set on an island, this beautiful temple has a fascinating history and was saved from flooding by UNESCO in the 1960s. After this, you’ll visit the impressive Aswan High Dam, a modern engineering marvel that tamed the mighty Nile and provides energy and water to much of Egypt.
Next, you’ll check into your Nile Cruise, where you’ll enjoy lunch on board before heading out for a relaxing felucca ride on the Nile. Drift along the river on this traditional sailboat, taking in the serene views of Elephantine Island and Aswan’s stunning landscape.
As the sun sets, you’ll return to your cruise for dinner and your first night on the river.
Kom Ombo & Edfu Temples
Wake up to breathtaking views of the Nile River and start your day with breakfast onboard. Today, you’ll set sail for Kom Ombo to visit its unique temple, which honors both Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon god. As you explore this distinctive double temple, you’ll uncover the intriguing myths and legends of ancient Egypt.
After your visit to Kom Ombo, continue your cruise to Edfu, where you’ll discover the remarkably well-preserved Temple of Horus. This impressive structure offers a glimpse into ancient Egyptian history and is celebrated for its exceptional preservation and detailed artwork.
At the end of the day, return to the cruise boat for a relaxing dinner and onboard entertainment, and enjoy another comfortable night on the boat.
Valley of the Kings & Hatchepsut Temple
Today promises to be a highlight of your Egyptian Experience!
After breakfast, set sail for Luxor and delve into the legendary West Bank. Begin with a visit to the Valley of the Kings, the renowned burial site of Egypt’s great pharaohs, including the tomb of the famous Tutankhamun (with entry to his tomb optional).
Next, marvel at the impressive Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Egypt’s most celebrated female ruler. You’ll also have the chance to see the towering Colossi of Memnon before heading back to the cruise for lunch.
The afternoon is yours to relax and enjoy onboard as you continue your sail along the Nile. In the evening, have dinner and enjoy the onboard entertainment.
Karnak Temple & Luxor’s East Bank
After breakfast, it’s time to delve into the wonders of the East Bank of Luxor. Begin your day at the monumental Karnak Temple, one of the largest and most significant religious complexes in the world. As you walk through the grand Hypostyle Hall with its towering columns, you’ll be awed by the scale and grandeur of this ancient site. Explore the sacred lake and take in the incredible carvings and hieroglyphs that showcase the artistry and religious significance of this historical wonder.
Following your visit to Karnak Temple, you’ll head to Luxor Airport for your flight back to Cairo.
Optional Old Cairo Tour & Local Food Experience
Today, you have the option to dive into Cairo’s rich Christian history with a visit to Old Cairo.
Explore the ancient Coptic churches and learn about Egypt’s Christian heritage. Alternatively, you can opt for a local food experience, sampling some of the city’s most delicious traditional dishes.
Walk through Cairo’s bustling streets, tasting mouthwatering Egyptian food while learning about the culture and recipes from locals. This is a foodie’s dream day!
